My moms saturn goes 0-60 in about 7 seconds.
208k , leaks/burns about 1 quart of oil every 100 miles. The clutch is going and it overheats if I don't turn the heat on full blast and drive with the windows down. eh, still gets 30 mpg, takes 20 bucks to fill the tank, and, like I said, 0-60 in 7s. this is unrelated to the topic, therefore it is spam.

Best run with a G-tech pro was 0-60mph in 7.72 secs. 87 300D with small intercooler turned up pump and a hollowed out cat and muffler removed. That was with regular diesel. Bio times are low 8's.

My '05 CDI with RennTech tuning does 0-60 in 6.2 (average of three runs). I've personally taken it to 110mph at 2900rpm.. with at least 1000 more RPM room on the tach based on gas peddle travel (and gut feeling). Rated top speed is 150 (in Germany).

They may have been on the decline due to my deceleration from 110 when I looked at them.. It's probably more reading error on my part, than spedo error of 9mph. The car does indeed shift about 2-300 before redline.. very odd when you consider the redline is 4700rpm, rather low for such a robust engine. |

wow! A Toyota Solara was keeping up with you at 135?? I didn't know they were that fast.
The thing about these MB's is they were designed with the full intention to run at top speed (140-150 mph) for extended periods of time, so they are very rock solid, and quiet at those speeds and it makes you feel like you're safe.. even though you know that (at least here in the US) that speed can get you in big trouble. |

The fuel does not cut off at around 5krpm - it's just a rev limiter that won't allow it to go past a certain rpm. The 1986-87 OM603 engines are governed to 5150rpm, +/-250rpm. Mine was right at the 5150 setting stock. You test it by flooring the pedal in park, let it hit the peak for a couple of seconds (pretty likely to be right around 5100), then let off. I increased the max rpm on my pump to the limit of spec (5400rpm) but that is really only useful for attempting higher top speeds, or more likely, higher peak speeds in the lower 3 gears for use in autox or on a road course... since the power cuve falls off rapidly above 5k, there's probably no acceleration gains to be had by wringing it to the redline in each gear. That may be why the CDI upshifts below redline... it may be optimized for best acceleration.
