Clarifying quantity
Just to clarify -- the quantities you list in post #37 is what was remaining after the install?
I've also noted you did a boot and suspenders method with the fatmat vs. what is recommended at sounddeadenershowdown dot com (claims covering 25% of the surface area is sufficient with the first 'CLD' layer). Did you read elsewhere that his findings were inaccurate? |

Yep, post 37 was remaining quantities. Note that this was before doing the doors, or the trip to the upholstery shop for the spare tire cover. That burned through the remaining carpet, and to this day I still have not replaced the carpet on the tire jack cubby cover, or the rear hatch cover. Add another yard to my original carpet quantity for the complete quantity required to complete a wagon.
On the fatmat, I did use more than required, and I knew this at the time. It will add slightly to the amount of mass between the sound source and my ears, so I thought that as long as I was there, I may as well go all out. That said, it wasn't required and was overkill. For anyone unfamiliar with this, remember that the job of the fatmat is only to dampen vibration, and it takes less than full coverage to accomplish this.

No prob.
Yeah, this is still my daily driver and it's pretty enjoyable. I do need to do a little more work to finish this project up, but I am pretty happy with the results. Just don't go overboard with this project. There are so many places that noise will creep in, it's nearly impossible to get a totally silent ride.
