How can people be against biodiesel made from WVO. It is a waste product that is made into a fuel, at reduced price. The money saved is then invested into the American economy.
I also don't understand how people can say it is illegal. I work for someone that uses 100% biodiesel, and is 100% legal. He just fill out a few forms and sends a $20-40 check to the state each month.

I never brought up terrorism, nor pollution issues related to WVO/SVO. Nor will I. That’s anyone else’s ball, and they may run with it in any direction they please. Do not expect me to attempt to stop, nor join them.
I base my statement(s) on numerous phone discussions and letterheads exchanged with both the US as well as state and local authorities. As for tax issues (all that I am in discussion about here), I am going on, and with, what those authorities have led me to believe. Nothing more. I have placed my trust, and beliefs, in what has been stated (as well as presented in written documentation) by the USDOT, TXDOT, IFTA and the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. These may very well be my final words on this issue, as my belief (based on the numerous related threads/posts regarding these issues), is as follows: Much like religion and politics. There are those with no room, nor desire for any discussion of views and/or beliefs other than their own on the topic of WVO/SVO. There are those willing to make statements without first obtaining enough facts to make them accurately. I do not believe that I am always, nor totally correct on all the related issues. However, I do feel I have enough factual knowledge on the issue prior to making any statement(s). If you feel I am wrong: I am open to any mature discussion, or review of any documentation regarding this issue. I am open to learn more about it, from anyone willing to provide it. Until such time. I am of the belief (based on documentation provided to me by those authorities mentioned above) that operating a motor vehicle on public roadways in these United States on WVO/SVO or any combination of such materials with other legal fuels, is not a criminal offence. Have a nice day !! ![]()

Here is my history. Back in 2003 I became interested in alternative fuels. At the time biodiesel and WVO was something that I had read about and I developed a great interest in it. Soon I purchased a 1985 300D. I thought that I would use 'home brewed biodiesel'. I so found that making home brew biodiesel consistently correct was a difficult thing to do when your oil source is different.
Next I though about WVO, however, because of the variances in WVO for biodiesel I was concerned of getting free fuel for a few miles before I trashed a perfectly good engine. Soon a commercial biodiesel plant came into my area. I have run my 1985 Federal 300D and my 1999 E300 each 7000 on B100. I had absolutely no problem, whatsoever. I was a VERY costive experience. You should hear a 606 engine on B100. I am confident that it is more quiet than some gas engines. Today I fill my four diesel Mercs from two sources. One sells B5 and the other B20. WVO sounds nice, but the oil needs heated. Most of my trips are under 20 miles. It takes a bit just to heat WVO from engine heat. For me it is not logical. My 617's and 606 engines are worth to much to 'experiment' with WVO. Just my two bits.

True. I've run across web pages for people who hate mayonaise (loons) or tomatoes (I happen to share that dislike)
![]() I will not be using WVO/SVO as a fuel in any of my vehicles, for technical reasons desribed previously. I have however run a tank of B10 (bought at a truck stop in Colorado) through my 300D and it didn't seem to know the difference. If there was a convenient and reasonably priced local source for biodiesel at the pump, I would use it. By reasonably priced I think I'd be willing to pay 20 cents a gallon extra to send my money to a farmer in Iowa instead of a terrorist in the Middle East.
