Running on plain Water and WVO??? Only at ebay!

Claims for 60mpg this guy just went too far to deceive people, see link:

WOW! I can drive for free, AND insuring it with Geico, I'll be able to buy Wilma those really big stones she wants so bad!

Thanks for the link!!!!

PS. I think Barney hates me. :(

Are you sure?

It's too bad he did not mention the manufacturer of the HHO system as I would be interested in checking them out. While at the Great American Truck Show in Dallas, Tx a few weeks ago, I met these folks: www.hy-drive.com The manufacture a hydrogen generating system for semi tractors. Their system is only for lease ($300/mo.) as they make improvements to the system. They guarantee a minimum 8% improvement if fuel mileage, and on big rigs that is significant!

I wouldn't be surprised if that HHO system cost as much as the car. But who knows, maybe with enough demand the price will come within range.

A "classic" ebay listing. If you read what the seller says and what the pictures actually show, you find:

- It's both a "1982" and a "1983." Or maybe it's a 1986 or later, given the alloy wheels, headlights, and body side moldings that appear in some photos but not others.
- It's been pre-pimped for your cruzin' plezur with a complete overcoat of metallic blue paint.
- The dash is cracked in some photos but not in others; Photoshop or two different cars?
- Air filter has been safely removed to eliminate those pesky routine maintenance costs of a filter, housing bracket, and housing mounts. And the turbo compressor now has unimpeded access to combustion air from the engine compartment (not to mention dirt, leaves, water, etc.) to maximize power and efficiency.
- Best of all, when used in "downhill mode" (second photo), it might actually achieve 60+ mpg!

There is legitimate research going on into the use of emulsified water and diesel water injection. I recall the gist being something along the lines of tiny water droplets exploding in the combustion chamber and cooling...and doing something.
I however cannot say anything about this auction, personally wouldn't trust it at all

Some photos show dash that is cracked in many places...others show the same dash with no cracks???

This seems fraudulent.

My uncle works for an energy company in Houston and has an experimental electrolytic system in his (gas) F150. Says it boosts his mpg by 30-50%. Also more horsepower. Works by liberating hydrogen gas an mixing it with the fuel/air precombustion. Seems pretty cool. Not sure how that would work in a diesel though???!!!??

Really not sure about the photoshopped dash - YIKES!

I wonder about claims such as these. Is there really a gain, or is this a combination of wishful thinking and (subconscious) conservative driving?

diametricalbenz 10-13-2007 06:12 PM

Ugh, it's greenbenz and Glendale...SCAM capital of LA County. :(

Note that they haven't shown any proof that the car gets 60mpg...nearly 2+ times its normal mileage.

dawsonj3 10-13-2007 09:52 PM

Anyone notice that there is no air filter of any kind on the engine? The turbo's compressor wheel is sitting there naked and exposed.

dawsonj3 10-13-2007 09:54 PM

And how about the cracked fan shroud, and the missing cover on the 3/2 valve levers?

ForcedInduction 10-14-2007 05:48 AM

Maybe he means 60mpg of water.

crashone 10-14-2007 01:49 PM

I want to know who buys this so that when it blows up I can get a good parts car.:D
