Putting additives in your tank is good preventative maintenance but it won't knock the crud out of your injectors in 10 minutes (too diluted).
How does 'poor maintenance' create fouled pre-comb chambers and piston crowns covered with 1/8" of carbon? Its more likely a poorly driven car like grandma's diesel that never gets driven at more than 1900 rpms at 12 miles a clip and builds nothing but carbon on piston crowns, valves, pre-comb chambers and fouls injectors too.

Truth is that diesel purge does nothing that flat out high-rev driving on interstates doesnt do by itself, say on regular 1 hr commute twice each day at high rpms.

Bought my 240D on ebay 3 states away. Drove it like bat out of hell all the way home and could feel the engine improve. And them tried 2 cans of diesel purge to 'clean it out' for the helluvit just because everybody said it was the thing to do.... the process took 1 1/2 hrs of idling to burn up the DP from a coffee can. And it made very little difference at all. This was 3 yrs ago and i havent used DP since.

Then i went to Diesel Kleen w/cetane booster and *thats* when noticable improvement occurred.

Of course what i'm really wondering is if y'all Diesel Purge users arent scorching your bores with the stuff. And still caint figure out how the stuff could possibly be better than DieselKleen w/cetane booster that costs a whopping $1.25 to treat 20 gallons and *instantly* improves combustion that keeps engine innards clean.
