I have the same problem on my '93. It's happening on all 4 doors, but the driver's door is the worst. I agree that it's probably due to bad adhesive, but it seems to be compounded by the vinyl shrinking and pulling. I bet that if my car had always been kept out of the sun (covered parking at work) that it wouldn't have this problem.

I doubt there is an adhesive on the planet that would hold mine -- the vinyl is too tight. Perhaps by heating/stretching it... but that could make it worse. Hard to tell.
