I found a small 1/16"x3/16" (appx) hole in the filler neck. How it got there is beyond me! I'd rather not R&R the entire tank if I can patch the hole and be okay with that stuff.

Would it be best to sand the area lightly down to bare metal to get a better bond as opposed to on the paint?
