You may not get an answer from the people at the sales counter. But I can tell you my brother was an engineer at a plant that made battery cases for Globe Union, a number of years ago (B4 WalMarts) and they would injection mold a case for Diehards one day, for JC Pennys then Montgomery Wards the next. same guts too. He said the warranty is what costs more for Diehard. My opinion is I have used Interstate for a few years then discovered Autolite at a discount, all grp 49 batteries and all have lasted at least 4 years and in once instance 7 years. OTOH we don't have real cold winters here, but I was also told it was the summer heat that kills batterys, due to increased sulphation or something that comes with elevated temps.
Eric Nguyen, I am sure you have the answer. Isn't it Avogadros number or something? (I know I know, its not atomic core, it is the nucleus thats involved..Argh! )
