Spray dye for 174 Palomino leather, vinyl, plastic
Hi all
As plastic parts age and become brittle color correct replacements are getting harder to find, so you may be forced to dye a suitable replacement to match your interior.
The MB 174 palomino that my interior has is a hard color to match, at least in rattle can form. SEM Palomino 15323 is far too light, and the SEM camel is good for the carpeting but too dark for plastic and vinyl trim.
I just tried Brillo color spray 040 Bark -Ecorce and it is a near perfect match. It is commonly available online, used primarily for shoe recoloring but is good for leather, vinyl and plastic. It lays smooth and has a semi-gloss finish, perfect for auto trim. Usually available in 4.5 oz spray cans, but larger sizes are available. Might suit your needs.
In the picture the bottom is SEM Palomino, the middle is MB original 174, the top is the Brillo 040 Bark for reference
