It's lowered on an air suspension system with a controller that adjusts ride height with most likely 3 different ride heights. You can adjust the height from lowest, medium, to taller. It runs off of airbags like the W220 airmatic suspension system.
Btw, I appreciate the work and effort you've put into this W124! It's a real catch and I've never seen a W124 on airbags! Cool car!
