DIY – Pictorial - W126 Front seat cushions in a W116 (cont.)

Reattach the large spring for the seat height adjustment mechanism with pliers and reattach the plastic covers for each side of the seat adjustment assembly. (Fig. 66)

Apply heat (with a hair dryer) to the semicircular prongs of the plastic covers (Fig. 67) to the seat hinges and gently bend them perpendicular so they can lock securely in the mounting holes in the seat hinges. (Fig. 68)

Clip both covers in place.

Reattach the large plastic seat adjustment knob. (Fig. 31)

Slide the rear backrest panel back in place. (Fig. 69)

Clip both lateral backrest panels back in place and reinsert the Phillip head screws as well.

The seat is now reassembled. (Fig. 70)

Place the assembled seat back in your vehicle.

Install both 10 mm front anchoring bolts first.

Then install both 10 mm back anchoring bolts.

Finally, install the 10 mm anchoring bolt for the seatbelt guide rail.

Success, now enjoy your updated seat. [|ó-{)
