I have the electric cooling fans triggered at 87c using a BMW temp switch. Normally it stays at a hair above 80c and I don't think I've ever seen it above ~95c even on the hottest summer days.
I'm on borrowed time with this head. I told myself I was going to replace it last summer and I didn't. Maybe this summer. Its hard to get myself to tear apart the engine when its running so well otherwise.
