A little embarrassed to tell what I did in a pinch, but here it is. Like Neuman up above, I had a thick paint stirrer, the heavy ones Lowe's gives out with the 5 gallon buckets of paint. From this I made the correct size piece to go into the opening, tapping it in with a hammer. Once it was in I used a narrow wood chisel to remove the wood through the opening on the bottom of the striker. A year later I did the same with another door. Knock on wood (pun intended) no problems since
