Mercedes Benz does not recommend plating their light alloy wheels. Most of the chrome Mercedes rims you see are Korean aftermarket knock offs, including the wheels on my car.
A toothbrush and some chrome polish does wonders for them.
By the way, you might want to replace your tires and get the right load indexed tires for your car (94H or 94V).
