That car had the suspension built by Porsche, and when Porsche set up the suspension, the wheels, tires, shocks, springs, and sway bars were all part of the math to make the suspension work best to the car. Change the wheels to 18s, you change the suspension and you change the math. Porsche knew what they were doing - why screw it up? To look good? Doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway, I usually prefer "stock" on collectable cars. The 500E qualifies; it so happens it also has a finely tuned suspension.
