Forgive me folks, I didn't mean any disrespect with my earlier post. I'm stuck with the undesirable necessity to drive my (rust free)'82 300DT thru the upcoming PA winter and am a bit edgy as I cannot afford to even pay attention these days, let alone buy a steam cleaning, rust proofing, undercoating in addition to the mechanical maintenance issues screaming for my attentition before winter.

Update: I tightened up the belts via the tightener on the alt. mount and the noise originally mentioned is no longer present. However, I did not drive the car, just revved it thru 90C, fully hot. I will see what happens tomorrow during the daily child dropoff/commute 40 miles routine.
