In the 2007 C280 when you want to change the radio station you must reach up (because the radio is now on top, and the heat/AC settings etc. are now at the bottom of the center console which is opposite from my 96)

The suspension is soft, while sitting at a stop I can rock the car by leaning left to right. The whole car feels light compared to my 96.

I know things change, but shouldn’t they be changing for the better?
For the most part I agree. Especially the transmission. When I bought the wife's 230K, we opted for the 2005 vs the 2006 due to the transmission. The 2005 has a regular ol' 4 speed vs. the 2006, 2007 7-speed. I think fuel economy, and the HP competition played a big part in MB specing the 7-speed. The 230K with 180 hp felt just as quick as the 200+ hp 2006 with a 7-speed. The 230K also gets better fuel mileage.

Also, if you drove a sport model, your thoughts might change in regards to the suspension. The non-sport C's aren't as tight.

And the radio, good point. It never occured to me that the climate and radio should be "flipped". However, you can change the radio station via the steering wheel buttons on the 2007.
