The 124 also does not have horizontal slats on the C pillar (the 201 does). That car is a pre-1990 124 ... after 1989 the molding changed to a solid cladding up the side of the door instead of that thin strip.
Beautiful car, anyhow. I hope it's owner gets it back, although I suspect it's now condemned. Not really sure what they do in a case like this, where it's now a major piece of evidence. Scary.
