Everything I've ever read or been told about Patek was that they manufacture ALL of their own movements. Audemars Piguet, too.

I agree, Ludwig Oeschlin is a real "rock star" class movement designer. The Freak watch is amazing and is a fantastic demonstration of what is possible with modern technology.
